HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format) stores photos at about half the size of JPG with better quality, and can hold image sequences and transparency. It is closely related to Apple’s HEIC, but many Windows apps and websites still can’t open it, so JPG or PNG is often needed for sharing.
HEIF opens on modern iPhones, iPads and recent Windows/macOS (with the HEIF extension); for older apps or the web, convert it to JPG or PNG.
PDF (Portable Document Format) is the universal standard for sharing documents. It preserves fonts, layout, images and formatting exactly on any device, which makes it ideal for contracts, forms, reports and anything meant to look the same everywhere.
PDF opens in every web browser and free readers like Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview on Mac, and the built-in viewers on Windows, Android and iOS.
