What changes when you convert MKV to FLAC?
This conversion removes the picture from the MKV file and saves its audio track as FLAC. Video resolution and frame rate do not carry into the result.
- Add multiple videos, choose the audio output and set a trim range when only part of the track is needed.
- Open the finished FLAC file and check fine details, layout and compatibility in the app where you plan to use it.

Output formatWhat is a FLAC file?
FLAC is a lossless audio format that compresses music with zero quality loss - every detail of the original recording is preserved. It is the favourite of audiophiles and for archiving CDs, though files are much larger than MP3.

FLAC plays in VLC, foobar2000, and most modern players; for iPhones or car stereos that reject it, convert to MP3 or M4A.
