SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) describes images as maths rather than pixels, so they stay razor-sharp at any size. It is ideal for logos and icons, but not for photographs — converting SVG to a raster format like PNG or JPG makes it usable anywhere.
SVG opens in any web browser and vector editors like Illustrator or Inkscape; to use it as an ordinary picture, convert it to PNG or JPG.
HEIC is the high-efficiency format Apple has used for iPhone photos since iOS 11. It stores images at roughly half the size of JPG with the same quality, but it is not supported everywhere outside the Apple ecosystem.
HEIC opens natively on iPhone, iPad and recent macOS. On Windows or Android you may need the HEIF extension, or simply convert it to JPG first.
