What types of images work best?
The AI works best on photos with a clear subject — portraits, product shots, pets, or objects against a relatively simple background. Complex scenes with multiple overlapping subjects may need some manual touch-up with the erase/restore tools.
Can I add a new background after removing the old one?
Yes. After the AI removes the background, you can set a solid color, upload a custom background image, add blur effects, and even apply drop shadows — all before downloading.
Can I fix areas the AI got wrong?
Yes. The Cutout tab has Erase and Restore brushes. Use Erase to remove parts the AI kept by mistake, and Restore to bring back parts that were accidentally removed.
Can I add a drop shadow to my subject?
Yes. Once the background is removed, enable the drop shadow option to add a natural-looking shadow under your subject — perfect for product photos and profile pictures.
What format is the output?
By default you get a transparent PNG. If you add a solid color or image background, you can also download as JPG or WebP.
